Are Gousto Meals Worth It for Students? An Honest Review

 

As a university student, balancing my time and managing a budget, while eating well can be at times difficult. I gave Gousto a chance to see if their meal kits could make my life easier, and here is my honest review. 

Cost

While Gousto meals may not seem like the cheapest option, it actually only works out to be around £15 per week. Meaning that prices average about £3 per serving, which is a little more than your basic groceries but is much cheaper than a takeaway. I found the cost to be extremely justified by how much it saved me from wasted ingredients. With the pre-portioned ingredients, I wasn't left with half-used vegetables going bad in the fridge. For weeks when I'm busy with classes and work, the cost feels reasonable, but I do realise it might not fit everyone's weekly budget. 

Convenience

The convenience of Gousto is one of the biggest advantages. I don't have to meal plan or make last-minute shopping trips, which has saved me a lot of time. The recipes are straightforward, so I can just follow the steps without stressing. For a student that also works part-time, Gousto is incredibly helpful for staying organised, especially if I want to avoid too many late-night KOKA noodle dinners!

Quality

The quality of Gousto meals surprised me. Each dish feels like a mini restaurant experience, and the ingredients are generally fresh and of high quality. There's a good variety of recipes, and i get to try things I wouldn't normally think to make. Some meals take longer than others, but overall, I've been impressed with the flavours and the level of detail in each dish.

While Gousto may seem like a bit of a splurge, it's worthwhile for students who want a healthy and convenient meal solution. For those looking to save time, reduce waste, and enjoy cooking, Gousto may be worth the investment.
